ZATCA (Saudi Arabia)

In Saudi Arabia, a business in the integration phase gives every consumer sale a simplified tax invoice with a QR code, from a solution onboarded with ZATCA, and reports it within 24 hours. BlinkFix can be that solution for your place: you give it a one-time code from the Fatoora portal and your details, it makes your place’s signing key, gets its certificates from ZATCA, runs ZATCA’s checks, and then signs and reports each invoice, credit note and debit note.

First of all

  • You are the seller, so the fiscal receipt is yours to issue. The receipt BlinkFix gives your customer confirms the payment BlinkFix took in your name; it is not a fiscal receipt.
  • Only the owner can set up, change or remove the fiscal connection.
  • BlinkFix switches fiscal connections on country by country. Until the app shows your connection as Connected, issue every fiscal receipt yourself, on your own till or system.

How it fits together

  1. Fatoora portalgives you the one-time code
the one-time code and your details, once
  2. BlinkFixmakes your unit’s key and signs each invoice
    each invoice, within 24 hours
  3. ZATCAclears or receives each invoice
Every invoice is signed and chained by BlinkFix and reported to ZATCA; ZATCA’s answer is kept with the order.

What you need

  • A VAT registration with ZATCA, and access to the Fatoora portal to make a one-time code. Ask ZATCA or your adviser which phase and wave your business is in.
  • Your VAT number saved for the place in VAT and receipts. The unit is onboarded for the place’s own VAT number: the form refuses another.
  • Your registered name, the street, the building number (4 digits), the district, the city and the postal code (5 digits) as they stand with ZATCA.
  • The one-time code: 6 digits, made on the Fatoora portal, valid for one hour. Make it just before you need it.

Step by step

  1. Open Work › More › Place settings › VAT and receipts › Fiscal connection. Only the owner can onboard the place.
  2. Under “Connection”, choose “Cloud provider”. The card “ZATCA (Saudi Arabia)” shows where your place stands.
  3. In the Fatoora portal choose Onboard new solution unit/device and copy the one-time code it shows. Type it into “One-time code from the Fatoora portal”.
  4. Check your details. “Registered name of the taxpayer”, the VAT number and the address start from what is saved for the place; fill in the district and anything missing.
  5. Press “Onboard with ZATCA”. BlinkFix makes the unit’s key, asks ZATCA for the compliance certificate, runs the compliance checks and asks for the production certificate. A refusal names the field.
  6. If a step stops (ZATCA is busy), press “Continue the onboarding”. You need no new code while BlinkFix holds the compliance certificate.
  7. Read the card: “Onboarded with ZATCA” shows the day the certificate stops being valid, and under it what waits to be reported.

How you know it works

  • The card reads “Onboarded with ZATCA”, with the certificate’s last valid day and “Test environment” or “Live”.
  • A paid order shows in the “Fiscal receipts” tab as “Issued” with its invoice number. Nothing waits to be reported for more than a few minutes.

The maker’s and the provider’s own manuals

ZATCA’s own manuals are on its Fatoora portal. BlinkFix’s research could not read ZATCA’s manual in full, so no page is linked here; the portal explains how to make the one-time code.

Only the pages of the maker, the provider or the authority themselves are linked, as they were on 29 October 2026.

If something goes wrong

ZATCA refused the one-time code

The code works once and for one hour. Make a new one on the Fatoora portal and onboard again.

The form says the VAT number must be the place’s own

The number you type has to be the one saved for the place in VAT and receipts, 15 digits starting and ending with 3. Correct whichever is wrong.

The onboarding stopped half-way

Press “Continue the onboarding”. BlinkFix keeps what ZATCA already gave it, and asks for a new code only when it holds none.

The certificate has expired

An expired certificate makes the unit not ready, and the form comes back. Onboard the place again: that makes a new unit at ZATCA with its own one-time code. Documents of the unit it replaces that still wait are reported with that unit’s own certificate.

Some invoices are listed as waiting, not confirmed or rejected

The card counts what ZATCA has not taken, and says the problem in words. BlinkFix sends again by itself; if ZATCA rejected an invoice after it was handed over, the card says so and you speak to ZATCA or your adviser.

In test mode the numbers start with TEST

While your country is in test mode ZATCA’s sandbox is used and the documents are not real invoices; they carry no QR code. Issue your real invoices yourself until the card says live.
