Fiscal printer
A fiscal printer (or fiscal cash register) keeps your country’s fiscal memory and prints the fiscal receipt. BlinkFix does not replace it. A phone or tablet running BlinkFix, on the same network as the printer, sends it each sale when you collect the money and tells BlinkFix what the printer answered.
First of all
- You are the seller, so the fiscal receipt is yours to issue. The receipt BlinkFix gives your customer confirms the payment BlinkFix took in your name; it is not a fiscal receipt.
- Only the owner can set up, change or remove the fiscal connection.
- BlinkFix switches fiscal connections on country by country. Until the app shows your connection as Connected, issue every fiscal receipt yourself, on your own till or system.
How it fits together
- BlinkFixcollects the money and makes the fiscal documentthe sale, when you collect the money
- Your phone or tabletBlinkFix open and in front, on your networkover the network (LAN), in the printer’s own protocol
- Your fiscal printerprints the receipt and keeps the fiscal memoryreports of the printer
What you need
- A fiscal printer or fiscal cash register that is already fiscalised and registered with your tax office as your country asks. BlinkFix cannot do this for you: your dealer or service technician does, and programs your name, address and tax number into the printer’s header. BlinkFix never sends the header.
- An online model with a network (LAN) connection, by Posnet, Novitus or Elzab, in Poland. These are the makers and the country BlinkFix has built the printer connection for, and the online generation of their printers. For another maker, an older model or another country the status reads “Not available yet” or the printer does not answer, and nothing is sent.
- A phone or tablet with the BlinkFix app, next to the printer. No Establishment tablet and no tablet licence is needed: the owner, or a manager with the Orders power, chooses the device in the app with “Use this device” or “Take over”. One printer is driven by one device at a time.
- That phone or tablet and the printer on the same network (the same router), and the printer’s network address, for example 192.168.1.20. Your printer’s manual says where the printer shows its address.
- BlinkFix open and in front on that device, with the screen on, whenever you sell. Only while the app is in front does the device ask BlinkFix for work, every half minute, and at once when BlinkFix wakes it. With the app in the background or the phone locked, nothing prints.
- Paper in the printer, and its daily report taken as your country asks.
Step by step
- Open Work › More › Place settings › VAT and receipts › Fiscal connection. As the owner you can fill in the connection on any device: it is the same screen in the app and on blinkfix.me.
- Under “Connection”, choose “Fiscal printer”. If this chip is not there, your country’s row in BlinkFix’s table allows no printer.
- Fill in “Maker” (Posnet, Novitus or Elzab) and “Model”, as printed on the printer.
- Next to “Connected by”, choose “LAN”. In “Printer address”, type the printer’s network address, for example 192.168.1.20. If your printer listens on a port other than its maker’s usual one, add it after a colon, for example 192.168.1.20:7000.
- Press “Connect”. BlinkFix saves the connection and checks it at once. The line under the buttons says “Connected.” or “Saved. The connection is not working yet.”
- On the phone or tablet that will sit next to the printer, open the same screen in the BlinkFix app. Under “Device that drives the printer”, tap “Use this device”, or “Take over” if another device is named there. The website shows which device drives the printer but cannot choose it.
- Press “Check the printer”. It reads what that device last reported about the printer and prints nothing. “The connection answers.” means the printer is ready.
- Sell something small. In VAT and receipts, open the “Fiscal receipts” tab: the order is there with the printer’s receipt number.
How you know it works
- The “Status” card reads “Connected”, and under it Fiscal printer · the maker and the model.
- A paid order shows in the “Fiscal receipts” tab of VAT and receipts as “Issued” with a number. While your country is in test mode it shows “Test mode” instead: BlinkFix marks the number as a test and shows none to customers.
- At closing, the daily report appears under “Reports” in the same tab, where your country asks for one.
The maker’s and the provider’s own manuals

If something goes wrong
The status says “Not available yet”
BlinkFix has no connection for that maker or country, so it sends nothing. Keep ringing up your orders on the printer yourself: VAT and receipts › Receipts to issue lists them, and you tick each one once it is rung up.
The message says this version of BlinkFix cannot reach a printer on the network
Update BlinkFix on the phone or tablet that drives the printer, from the App Store or Google Play. The network connection to a printer is part of the app, so a version without it cannot make the connection.
“USB” or “Bluetooth” does not work
Choose “LAN”. USB and Bluetooth are in the list, but this version of BlinkFix reaches a printer only over the network.
The status says the device has not reported the printer, or was last in touch some time ago
Open BlinkFix on the phone or tablet named under “Device that drives the printer” and leave it open and in front. The status shows what that device last reported, and a device that has not been in touch for three minutes counts as not connected.
The printer does not answer
Check that the printer is on and on the same network as the phone or tablet that drives it, and that the address is right: a router can give a printer a new address, so ask your technician to fix it. A guest network can hide other devices from the phone or tablet. If your printer’s manual names a port other than the maker’s usual one, type it after the address with a colon.
The printer is not ready (no paper, cover open, switched off)
A printer that is not ready takes no job. Put it right and BlinkFix tries again. A receipt the device does not take within about three minutes is given up and tried again later; it shows “Waiting for the register”, and “Failed” with the owner told if it keeps failing. If the printer says its daily report is due, BlinkFix first asks it for the report and then prints the receipt.
The message says the printer’s device did not pick up the receipt
BlinkFix is not open and in front on the phone or tablet named under “Device that drives the printer”. Open it there, or open the app on the device you are using now and tap “Take over”. A place can have several phones and tablets, but one printer is driven by one device.
The message says the printer did not answer while printing
The receipt may have printed. Look at the printer’s last receipt before you do anything else. If it printed, tick the order in VAT and receipts › Receipts to issue as rung up. If it did not, press “Re-run” on the receipt in the “Fiscal receipts” tab. Never press “Re-run” first: the printer could record the same sale twice.
The printer refuses a line because a VAT rate is missing
BlinkFix matches each line to your printer’s VAT (PTU) table by its rate, so every rate on your menu must be active in the printer. Ask your service technician to program the missing rate. The receipt waits on the list until then.
An older Novitus printer does not answer
BlinkFix speaks the XML protocol of the Novitus online printers, not the older binary protocol of older models. Ask your dealer whether your model is an online one.
The message names the maker and says it is not Posnet, Novitus or Elzab
Fill in “Maker” with exactly one of the three. BlinkFix has no connection for another maker.
Polish letters print wrongly on a Posnet printer
BlinkFix sends Polish text in the Windows 1250 character set. Set the printer to it: look in your printer’s manual for how to set the character set.
A receipt for a business customer with a NIP did not print
Some printers’ protocols cannot print the customer’s NIP on a receipt. BlinkFix then does not print it, and the order goes back to Receipts to issue for you to ring up on the printer with the NIP.
A refund does not print on my printer Not yet confirmed
BlinkFix prints no refund on your printer. In Poland, returns and accepted complaints go into a separate record that you keep. BlinkFix keeps a refund document with the lines, the amount and the VAT, and the number of the sale’s receipt. Whether that document can serve as your separate record is for your adviser.
Turkey: my register is a YN ÖKC Not yet confirmed
The maker pairs a new-generation cash register with ordering software under the GMP-3 protocol, by cable, and BlinkFix cannot pair it. Until the app shows your register as Connected, ring up every BlinkFix order on the register yourself. Which payment type of the register records a payment BlinkFix took online is not settled: ask your register’s maker.
